    Topic: Flexibility and Reactivity in Adaptive Learning Systems
    In a variety of practical fields related to both real and virtual world, there has been increasing attention to learning objects such as autonomous robots and software agents which can adaptively behave to achieve their goals in dynamic environments. So far, although many research efforts have been devoted to developing approaches so that the learning objects can flexibly and rapidly adapt to environments, we could apparently not yet find the perfect solution to acquire their highly adaptive behavior while keeping computational complexity low. Under these circumstances, our research group has been focusing on hybrid type of learning frameworks. In this talk, I will present several “Adaptive Learning” approaches based on a hybrid architecture after explaining fundamental machine learning algorithms constituting the architecture as main components. The concept that allows us to construct the practical system with which its users have familiarity will also be mentioned.
